Main Entrance - Banteay Srei Temple. Originally named as the temple of “Shrī Tribhuvan Maheshwar”, Banteay Srei is dedicated to Lord Shiv. It was founded by Yajñavarāh, the spiritual teacher of King Jayavarman V in A.D. 967 in the ancient locality called Īshvarpur near Phnom Dei. Beautifully carved in pink stone, Banteay Srei was discovered in 1914 and restored from 1931 to 1936 through the process of anastylosis. (Image # 00112).
